Drypoint Monoprint Workshop -- An Introduction to Various Monoprinting Techniques!

  • Dayton Printmakers Cooperative 901 North Keowee Street Dayton, OH, 45404 United States (map)

During this workshop, participants will create a series of 10-12 Drypoint Monoprints using a single plate to produce images in black, white, and color. Participants will perform monoprinting techniques including selective inking and wiping, à la poupée inking, painterly plate methods and ghost printing. This method of printmaking requires minimal development of the incised image; variations in tone and color are achieved through selective inking and wiping techniques. Attendees will participate in the entire intaglio process: Setting up and preparing a plate/paper, incising an image onto the plate, and creating a fully-wiped intaglio inked proof and print (black ink). Subsequent prints in the series will include color manipulations.

This workshop is suitable for beginning and experienced printmakers. Participants must be over the age of 18.
